The Goals of MMF
Teach the teachers
From 2021, Mentor Teachers from Mauritius and Europe will train music teachers who will thereafter pass on their skills to the children and young people across the Island.
National Youth Orchestra
By the year 2030, 3000 children and young people will have a good knowledge of music or are in the learning process with a perspective in life. The ultimate goal of MMF is the creation of a National Youth Orchestra.

Meet our musical team
Véronique Zuël
Recipient of the Countess of Munster Trust Fund, student of Winifred Ramsay and former trainee at British Youth Opera, lived in the UK from 1990 to 1999, where she performed main roles such as Susanna,Gilda, Micaëla, Norina, Mimi, Tatyana and Adele.
Back to Mauritius, she studied with tenor Jean Bernard Thomas from Reunion island till 2012, specialising in bel canto.Veronique sings regularly on the Mauritian stage for private events, festivals, concerts and has been invited to perform in France, South Africa, Australia, India, Ghana and Reunion Island. She sang the leading roles in 'Les Pêcheurs de Perles', 'La Traviata', 'Dido and Aeneas', 'Orphée aux Enfers', 'La Veuve Joyeuse' for which she received very good reviews. Since 2015, she has been coaching young singers for Opera Mauritius Academy while continuing her solo career.
Ariane Rovesse
The young Brazilian clarinettist Ariane Rovesse has a Bachelor from the University of Sao Paulo and a Master's degree from the University of Arts in Berlin. She is currently specializing in music pedagogy at Music Academy Basel. Ariane has extensive experience in orchestral and chamber music and plays as a guest musician with the Sinfonie Orchester Berlin and the Berliner Symphoniker. She can also be heard in the Ensemble IIinx, the Orpheus Ensemble Berlin, the Bratuga Quintetts and the Duo Caju.
Simone Strohmeier
After completing her Master Degrees in Violin Pedagogy in Basel and Violin Performance in Lucerne, violinist Simone Strohmeier served as substitute violinist in Orchestras like Sinfonieorchester Basel, Kammerorchester Basel, Camerata Zürich before gaining recognition as soloist and concertmaster of “Ensemble La Partita Zürich”. She has accepted invitations to perform as soloist, and leader in Europe, South East Asia and Africa. Today she is Leader of the Second Violins/ Concertmaster a.i. at Bachensemble Lucerne, plays in the SwissOrchestra and leads her own Chamber Orchestra Camerata Giocosa. Furthermore Simone Strohmeier teaches a violin class at KMS Pratteln (SUI) and is a dedicated music pedagogue.

Jean Marie Linley Baniaux
Linley is a polyvalent (Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar and Drums) ABRSM Grade 8 music teacher and performer. Worked as Instructor for Caritas Mauritius and Guangzhou Expats school China. Performed at different hotels in Hong Kong, China and Mauritius.
