Music: An Undeniable Universal Unifying Factor
The Goals of MMF
The Goal by 2030: 3000 children and young people having a good knowledge of music or are in the learning process with a perspective in life. And our own National Youth Orchestra.
How MMF operates
Tuition at MMF consists of two components:
1. Remote classes from Europe throughout the year via video conference tools. This allows for a varied and stable programme.
2. On-site tuition with Mentor Teachers both local and European, the latter on short- and long-term stays. This enables the most effective and personal way of teaching and is a huge benefit to the Mentor Teachers as well.
MMF’s and their partners’ work consist above all of the following tasks:
-
Design, develop and put into practice the curricula, both on Mentor Teacher and Teacher levels.
-
Recruit and host international Mentor Teachers, supposedly mainly in Europe.
-
Recruit teachers for the MMF Programme, which includes 1.) guided and structured training on their respective instrument as well as in pedagogical skills, 2.) the opportunity to start paid teaching right away, 3.) graduation in line with ABRSM.
-
Provides high quality music tuition (paid) for External Learners who neither want to teach for MMF nor are from deprived areas.
-
Provide with the digital and physical infrastructure for the MMF Programme.
-
Build up Systems Schools along with local partners where music tuition is provided.
-
Collaborate with local and international partners in order to enable concerts for (Mentor) Teachers and Children alike.
-
Build up a Mauritian National Youth Orchestra.
-
Administration, PR, Fundraising.
